Picture(s) of the Week:

This week's photo is not of anything funny, cool or our usual collection of strange shots. It is simply of a guy we came to know within the last couple months. Shain Matthews has become one of our "left coast" buddies.... and over the weekend the crash at Kokomo has them out of parts and heading back home. It's a shame to see 2 nice guys like Shain and his crew chief Darin AKA Heavy D done for the year. Shain ... the pleasure has been ours.... and here's to seeing you back in the midwest real soon! Word on the street is Heavy D is staying in the midwest looking for some work. Someone.... please show him some love with a job!!!!!
UPDATE: Looks like Shain will be here thru Sprint Week! After that looks like they head home. This is encouraging news! MAYBE they can find sponsors to help them thru the end of the year. Lets hope!
Quote of the week:
Dakoda Armstrong was having a conversation with Kyle about the shenanigans of himself and younger brother Dalton when Dakoda suddenly offered up this nugget:
"It's been a while since I punched my brother in the face!"
Dakoda..... that time may come again if Dalton sees this!!!!
Please go to the photos section to see pics from that particular night's action! Either Kyle, Amber or Don will be taking photos from the tracks.... we will be posting photos from those places.
In doing the Live @ the Track segment we do ask this of individuals. First we ask that you SUPPORT THESE RACE TRACKS!! Without you going to the races there would be no races.... and, well it could affect whether we get permission to do what we do there. Second, IF you cannot go to the races, we ask you support any radio that is carrying the event LIVE. These tracks need radio as much as radio needs the tracks. Supporting the radio carrying races has a far reaching effect. Third, ONLY if the first two on here are not an option, THEN please tune into Live @ the Track. We do the segment ONLY as a measure for people who cannot be there... NOT as a replacement for you in the stands. See you at the races!!!!

UPDATE: We have uploaded the first interview of Kyle Cummins for your viewing pleasure.
We hope everyone had a great 4th of July! We were hoping to spend ours at Bloomington but Mother Nature denied that. Out weekend plans have us going to Haubstadt for the WoO race Sunday. Remember.... winged sprint cars are open wheel cars too! Photo galleries are now up.
We discovered this week that Shain Matthews will be here thru Sprint Week. This is good news! We did learn that Spencer Racing is one crash away from folding up the family operation. This is not good. Hopefully sponsors that read this page can get on board... helping these teams out so they do not have to stop. Let's keep these teams racing!!!!

UPDATE: We have uploaded the second interview of Chad Boat. We have uploaded the first of our "Child Fan" interviews... this one of Brady Short done by Kayla Hendershot.
Hopefully since everyone sees how the 3rd interview is done we can get childern offering to do the 3rd interviews for drivers. Parents.... the list of drivers is on our interviews page. Cottle, Whitt, Hagen and Darland are gone. All others are available.... so email us your childs info so we can arrange an interview! Our kids can interview them all... but that is not right! Lets get the kids involved and lets get those interviews going!!!

UPDATE: We have uploaded the first interview of Chad Boespflug for your viewing pleasure.
We went to Paducah Friday and Haubstadt Saturday. Plenty of good racing with both open-wheel divisions. Again I must thanks the MSCS officials for their continued efforts keeping us supplied with results. This group has been awesome... and it's something I continue to look forward to when I go to their events!
Kyle will be in Kokomo tonight. No live updates tonight. On a side note.... there will be no further Live updates from Tri-State Speedway. We have been asked not to do it from the facility and we will honor this request. I have been personally bashed on messageboards for this... but this is something out of my control. I apologize for the inconvenience.
Photo galleries have been uploaded from all 3 races. Enjoy!

UPDATE: We have added the first interview of Kevin Thomas Jr. for your viewing pleasure.
We have our weekend schedule confirmed. We will be at Paducah International Raceway on Friday and Tri-State Speedway in Haubstadt on Saturday. This will be Kyle's second trip to Paducah and my first. Kyle was impressed with the facility.... from the pics I have seen it looks good! The track has been linked in our Links section... click here to check them out. We cannot wait till Friday! Of course Haubstadt on Saturday.... well it goes without saying we love this place! See you at the races!

UPDATE: We have added the second interview of Josh Spencer for your viewing pleasure.
I am enjoying my weekend off with my 20 year high school graduation reunion (yea I'm OLD). The photo galleries Kyle and Amber have from the racetracks will be put up on Sunday after I get the hangover blues beat! Should be by eveningtime. Kyle and Amber were at Bloomington last night.... tonight has Kyle at Paragon for the KISS show. Lets hope Mother Nature won't be a turd tonight.... storms are lighting up the radar screen......
As of now next weekends schedule will have us at Paducah on Friday for the MSCS show, then off to Haubstadt for the Saturday MSCS show. IF we can both make Paducah we will try and do LIVE from there. We will NOT be doing LIVE from Haubstadt.
06/19/08
UPDATE: We have uploaded the interview of Ricky Williams for your viewing pleasure.
We will post new Photo/Quote of the Week tomorrow when I don't have to be in to work at 4am. This going to bed at 7pm stuff to get 8 hours sleep sucks! Makes you forget obligations... like WEB SITES!!!!

UPDATE: We have uploaded the second interview of Hunter Schuerenberg for your viewing pleasure.
The photo galleries are now uploaded. We have shots from the Winchester USAC race and from the new Lawrenceburg Speedway on Saturday. If you get a chance GO CHECK OUT LAWRENCEBURG! The new facility looks beautiful... and will be even better when Mother Nature cooperated so the sod can be lain in the infield. The racing was good.... Dave Rudisell and company had the "Opening Night Blues"..... but all things considered the night was good. Thanks to Dave for the accomodations for us... we do appreciate it! We hope to go LIVE from there in the next week or 2!

UPDATE: We have done the double today since we were at the races last Saturday and I had no internet due to extensive flooding in the Columbus area. The first interview of Thomas Meseraull and the second interview of Dakoda Armstrong have been uploaded for your viewing pleasure. We obtained a second interview of Hunter Schuerenberg and first interview of Binghampton NY's Coleman Gulick.
This is a personal note from me (Don). Not only has the Columbus area suffered from extensive flooding, there have been many others that have been also. At such times it makes you realize what we do here is miniscule in the scope of what has happened to our state and hometowns. I have personally been in the flooding areas in Columbus and the damage is extensive. I have been helping a friend clean up from this nightmare. The scope of this in one neighborhood in undescribable.... take that to a larger scale within this town and countless others..... makes me speechless. Our hospital is shut down until further notice.... and in a town of almost 40,000 this is huge deal. We have no emergency services..... the closest towns to offer ER's are 25 miles away. Our immediate care facilities are innundated with people needing help. It's like a war has broke out with damage and casulties.
I live 3 blocks from the hospital. As for me personally.... we were lucky. However, the house across the street was not so lucky.

The above image is courtesy of my next door neighbor. She was sending me pictures on the progress of the flood as I was in Haubstadt when it all broke loose. The next picture shows one of the entryways into our town:

I could get on here and post more pictures or descriptions of the countless examples of devistation in town... but these people have suffered enough so more images of this I think is a bit much. Families whose homes, belongings and lives have been ruined by the flood. This flood has been deemed a 100 Year Flood. The level of the East Fork of the White river crested at levels not seen since 1913. The number I heard was approximately 15 feet above flood stage. In my neighborhood, Haw Creek crested 22 feet out of its banks.... some 3 feet short of getting into my house.... which is why our hospital is dessimated.
In times like this it's hard to do this job. Kyle and I are both devistated by the scope of this event. However, we can use this venue to remind people of a few things.
People who can do so should donate whatever they can to the Red Cross. Money... cleaning supplies..... water..... non-perishible foods...... clothing........ there are SO many people affected by this in numerous towns in Indiana and really need your help. I have food, water and clothing here. I am ok. So many more are not. Can't YOU contribute something to flood relief???? I am currently unemployed and I took the last 5 dollars from my wallet and donated to the Red Cross. One team whom we interviewed on T2D gave Kyle and I each money to get a room and us some food since we were both effectively broke and could not get to our homes Sunday night. So I know both teams and fans have the means to donate to the Red Cross for flood relief. You can go to their website or call their toll free number for instructions on what to do to help. Please.... help those in need.
Also.... remember if you travel into these towns to respect the local government, local law enforcement and the National Guard people stationed in these towns. They are doing a lot.... they are tired and losing patience with people who are not following instructions. Someone who blows them a line of crap because you are inconvenienced is pretty sad. Look around and see the devistation. These people have a job to do so don't get in their way. Lighten up and do as they say.

We have obtained first interviews of Jesse Hockett, Bret Mellenberndt, Danny Holtsclaw and Jon Sciscoe. We obtained the second interview of Logan Hupp.
We will be uploading the photo gallery from last evening shortly. We are taking the rest of the weekend off... Kyle's knees and ankles need the rest... and with bad knees to begin with it puts you behind the 8-ball. Next weekend will be busy.... will have our schedule on Wednesday
05/28/08
UPDATE: We have uploaded first interviews of Kyle Robbins and the long overdue interview of Tray House, 1993 and 1994 USAC Sprint car runner-up and current crew chief for Contos Racing's Shane Cottle, who just won the Little 500!
This was a whale of a weekend we came out of. Drivers who interviewed at T2D did well again this weekend.
Remember.... we will update Photo and Quote of the Week next week. We will be back on track for it after that.
This weekend as of now has us going to the KISS show at Bloomington. We do need to make a trip to Kokomo soon... we have something brewing up there.... details to follow after the trip.
05/26/08
We have finally updated the Photo/Quote of the Week as well as uploaded photo albums from the weekend. We were quite busy.... and we are sorry we slacked in updating these areas. Kyle hit 5 tracks in 5 days.... so it was very busy! I did 4 in 4 days.... plus sick last week. The good news is we have time to relax this weekand get the site back in order!
05/24/08
UPDATE: We have uploaded the first interview if Kasey Kahne Racing's Brady Bacon and the second interview of Keith Kunz Racing's Darren Hagen for your viewing pleasure.
Anderson pit pictures are up, Terre Haute shots will go up after the ORP race tonight. We will also update Photo of the Week and Quote of the Week as soon as we can. We have family obligations today (my daughter's grad party) and the race this evening, so we will update the rest ASAP.
Again we apologize for not uploading on Wednesday like we usually do. With Kyle off to the races and me a bit under the weather we dropped the ball on it! Racing mode kicked in and we realized Thursday on the wayt home from Terre Haute we did not upload interviews!
We will be at ORP watching the Night Before the 500 USAC Midgets Saturday evening. Then Sunday we will be at Haubstadt's Tri-State Speedway for the MSCS sprints.
05/18/08
UPDATE: We have uploaded the first interview of Blake Fitzpatrick for your viewing pleasure.
Looks like Kokomo has cancelled for the day. Thanks to everyone who tuned into Live on Friday night. We shall try again this weekend for more racing!
Photo galleries are now up and running. I (Don) am going back to IMS to complete my QUAD for the weekend!
We also interviewed Dustin Morgan 2 weeks ago and I forgot to add him here. Sorry I didn't mention you Dustin!! Maybe the website guy should be fired or his pay cut.....
05/14/08
UPDATE: We have added the first interview of Kasey Kahne Racing's Brad Sweet for your viewing pleasure.
We did obtain first interviews of reigning MSCS champ Kyle Cummins and Chad Boespflug.
Our schedule for this weekend looks like this:
May 16 - Gas City KISS show
May 18 - Kokomo
Saturday is looking like a trip to Twin Cities.... but this is an unofficial stop. Essentially.... it's not T2D related, just some personal time at the track! Please make sure if you see us, stop us and say hi and tell us what you think about the site!
05/11/08
UPDATE: We have added the second interview of Brad Kuhn for your viewing pleasure.
Last night we got acclimated to Haubstadt and got everything figured out to do future LIVE @ THE TRACK segments from there. The facilty where we can update from is top notch.... thanks to the Tri-State folks and MSCS folks for accomodating us there! We look forward to updating from the facility!!!
We will have the photo gallery from Haubstadt up this afternoon.... as soon as I can get Kyle's and my pics together and in an album. I will be reformatting photo albums so it will fit in screens better!
05/08/08
We have a scheduling change for this weekend. We will still be going to 3 tracks this weekend... Bloomington, Haubstadt and Kokomo. We will be doing Live @ the track on Friday and Sunday, NOT on Saturday. Kyle has a FULL schedule of interviews.... I have been granted infield access for pictures and with the things going on then I wil not have time for the Live segment. We will, however, do some updates on indianaopenwheel.com as time permits for the day. We apologize for this inconvenience..... we are using the weekend to plan on how we will do pictures and live updates.... thanks again for your support!
05/07/08
UPDATE: We have uploaded the first interviews of USAC Midget competitor Travis Young and USAC Silver Crown Series director and former Contos Racing driver Jason McCord for your viewing pleasure.
Our schedule will be a busy one this weekend. We will be at Bloomington Friday for the USAC sprints.... then Saturday in Haubstadt for the MSCS sprints.... then Sunday at Kokomo Speedway for their sprint car show. Look for us at one of these tracks and say hi!!
05/05/08
We have uploaded photo albums of this previous weekend's racing. Brownstown pit shots and Terre Haute pit and action shots are available for your viewing pleasure.
05/03/08
UPDATE: We have uploaded the first interviews of Stephanie Mockler and Sammy Imel for your viewing pleasure.
Well Mother Nature has screwed up our plans this weekend. Friday night was rained out. There is a slim possibility for us going to the USAC show at Brownstown tonight.... depending on if Kyle and I can get plans freed up to go. We are both doing the family gig today.... we will go racing ONLY if time allows. Devin will be there with the Dak Simulators folks.... go check them out for some racing fun! We will be going to Terre Haute on Sunday for the rain out from Friday. Look for us this weekend!
